Owner Angela Tang opened Maisonry as an intimate salon space for herself and other stylists. The salon sits between Guerrero and Dolores streets, within walking distance of the shops and restaurants on Valencia Street. Street parking is available and is the recommended option for all services, with the Mission Bartlett Garage at 3255 21st St a few blocks away. Check for parking restrictions and street cleaning days.

Color is the core of the menu. Angela Tang's dimensional highlights start at $525, and her Signature Dimensional Highlight Touchup starts at $600 and takes roughly four hours or more. Andrew James offers a Maintenance Highlight with a cut and color from $495, along with full highlights from $595 and base or gray touchups from $225 plus an added $65. Charlene Tran offers global color from $325 and partial and full highlights. Hair treatments include services for long-term hair health and for rehabilitating hair and scalp.

Cut and styling services are offered by Amy Hsueh, Val Navarro and Andrew James. Haircuts run from $175 to $200 depending on the stylist, shampoo and blowdry services are available, and Amy Hsueh also offers updos, extension maintenance from $400, extension removal and wash for $225, and bang or neck trims. New extension applications are priced per consultation.

Booking and payment: a credit card must be kept on file when booking. Each stylist collects payment on their own, and all major credit cards are accepted, with some stylists also taking cash. Appointments can be cancelled online up to 72 hours ahead; inside that window, clients contact their stylist directly. Color appointments changed within 72 hours are charged 50 percent of the booked service. Haircut and color changes within 24 hours, and no-shows, are charged the full amount to the card on file. Clients arriving 15 minutes or more late may have their service shortened or may be treated as a no-show. Financial refunds are not offered, but clients unhappy with a service can contact their original stylist for a complimentary adjustment within two weeks, subject to the adjustment criteria.
