Founder Loretta Wilger runs the business from her private studio in Naperville, and the sessions are taught by her personally.

Classes cover a range of goals. Makeup classes for women and teens teach color selection for skin tone, prep, prime, contour and illumination, and brow care, with a less-is-more approach meant to enhance each client's natural style. Clients can bring their current makeup, brushes and skin care products to class for review. Each makeup class ends with step-by-step notes to take home and before and after photos taken on an iPhone.

Poise and photogenic classes are built for confidence in front of others. Poise sessions teach walking with grace in any shoe and build posture and presence. Photogenic sessions cover facial expression, body language and posing for the camera. Women's poise and photogenic classes take a maximum of two people at a time.

Brow services range from a simple tweezing-only shaping to shaping with filling in, and a private brow class covers brow mapping, common brow mistakes, and the tools and products used for brows. Makeup application is offered for special occasions, senior photos, Sweet 16 parties, prom, homecoming, nights out and corporate headshots, with airbrush makeup and faux strip lashes available as add-ons.

Gift certificates for classes and cosmetics can be bought online. Models, actors and makeup artists who join LOOKS Pro receive 30 percent off cosmetics and brushes, with membership requiring the name of a representing agency or an industry employer and discounts limited to professional use.

Teaching is done in person by the founder, using a less-is-more method that works with a client's natural style. In makeup classes, she applies makeup to one side of the face while the client copies it on the other side.
