Look grew out of Fig and Clover, and the Temescal location was later opened as a separate salon. Allegra Csanyi and Lauren Corden joined the Temescal salon around 2011, and the team now includes stylists Leslie, Ruby Blunt and Sophia Isabella.

Hair services cover haircuts, which include a shampoo and blow-dry and start at $100, along with a barber cut for short hair at $80 that does not include shampoo. Short haircut maintenance is $80 for clients whose hair is short and not past the ears; it is not a bob service. Blowouts and simple heat styling can be booked online, and special-occasion hairstyles can be arranged by sending photos and the desired date, with a trial appointment beforehand if wanted. Curly-haired clients are asked to arrive with hair recently washed and fully dried, styled the way they usually wear it.

Color is priced after a consultation, and the final range depends on the work. Semi-permanent color, at $100 to $125, darkens, tones or adds gloss, and lightening needs a permanent color or bleach appointment instead. Regrowth and refresh is a root touch-up on all-over color that does not involve bleaching, at $120 to $150, and is usually needed every six to eight weeks. Face-framing highlights start at $165. Partial dimensional color covers the front, sides and crown with foils or balayage from $165 to $350, and full dimensional color adds the back and underside from $285 to $400. Bleach and tone starts at $200. For bleach root touch-ups, roots should be one inch or shorter, or extra time and cost will apply. A full-head bleach needs extra booked time, and clients who are not returning are asked to email about a consultation first. Platinum card blonding, priced at $400, lifts natural hair to a very light platinum blonde over several bleaching sessions and needs a consultation and ongoing toning and at-home products. Creative color, starting at $300, bleaches first and then adds vivid, pastel or bold placement color; new clients, or those whose last bleach touch-up was over three months ago, should book a consultation first.

When booking color, clients are asked to share their current color and any color history, including Overtone or henna use, along with root length and the color and intensity they want. Booking is done through the online schedule, and questions can go through the inquiry form or directly to the stylist. Appointments should be moved or cancelled at least two days ahead; changes within two days are subject to a 50% fee, and no-shows or cancellations within 12 hours are charged 90%. Color appointments run long and are hard to refill, so clients should tell their stylist as early as possible about any change.

Each stylist works from the client's own style and texture, and color and bleach work begins with a consultation to set the plan and the price range.
