Level Nine

Level Nine is a private salon suite in Scottsdale, so each appointment takes place in a closed suite rather than an open salon floor. All services are hair services, and the menu runs from blowouts and haircuts to lightening, dimensional color, keratin smoothing and extensions.

Color work includes balayage, which is hand-painted lightening starting at $250 and taking 90 minutes or more, with three options. Traditional highlights start at $225, with foils placed in sections. Solid color starts at $145 and is a single shade applied at the root with no foils; it is for returning clients only, and the previous color must have been done no more than 30 days earlier. Solid color formulas are custom-mixed with salon-grade pigments and tailored to each client's undertone. The Gloss and Style service at $225 pairs a semi-permanent gloss with a professional blowout and takes about two hours, with a $100 deposit.

Extensions and smoothing are also offered. Beaded row extensions start at $50 and take 10 minutes or more; beads are placed on a customized track and wefts are hand-sewn onto it. K tips, which are keratin bond extensions, start at $1,901 and take about six hours, with a $1,900 deposit. The keratin smoothing treatment is $350, takes 180 minutes and requires a $250 deposit; it is meant to reduce frizz and add shine, uses a formaldehyde-free product, and the salon states the results last three to five months.

Consultations are free and take 30 minutes. Haircuts start at $55 and include a consultation, cutting, detailing and a blowout finish. Blow Out and Style starts at $50 and takes an hour or more, with a clarifying cleanse, deep conditioning mask, scalp massage and a blowout styled to the client's lifestyle.

Hours are Monday 12 PM to 5 PM, Tuesday and Thursday 12 PM to 7 PM, Wednesday 11 AM to 5 PM, and Friday 12 PM to 4 PM. The salon is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Cancellations or reschedules require 48 hours' notice; later changes incur a fee of 50% of the scheduled service total, and no-shows are charged the full total. That fee is waived if the guest finds a replacement who is confirmed with the owner before the appointment. Buy Now, Pay Later is available in person for bookings from $50 to $4,000, with approval obtained before the appointment.

Color and extension work is built around each client, with formulas mixed to suit the individual's undertone and extensions customized to the client's hair.
