Layne & Co. Salon

Layne & Co. Salon is in suite 105 of Building 2 at 8715 W Parmer Lane, between Advanced Smiles Dental and City Limits Vet Clinic. It opened in September 2021 and is founded and owned by Shelby Sells, who built a clientele over four years in an earlier salon suite before opening here. The salon describes itself as Austin's premier extension salon and as welcoming but high-end, and says its team is made up of self-motivated professionals who value growth, collaboration and the guest experience.

Extensions are the salon's core specialty. It offers Invisible Bead Extensions, which the salon describes as a patented method: silicone-lined beads, color-matched to each client's hair, attach the extensions. At a first install, the extensions are sewn in first and the natural hair is then colored to match and blend. Every IBE appointment includes the extensions, a precision blended cut and styling as requested, plus custom dimensional color when it is quoted. The salon says installs are performed by an IBE-certified artist and that its IBE stylists must be trained and certified. Clients are typically due for a reinstall roughly 6 to 10 weeks after removal. New guests receive an extension aftercare guide and a take-home care routine, and the salon advises washing extensions once a week, and no more than three times.

A visit usually starts with a conversation about what the client likes and dislikes, their lifestyle, and how often they want color appointments. New guests complete a new guest application so the team can match them with a suitable service, and color and extension consultations are booked in person through the online system. Stylists share product recommendations and at-home guidance during the appointment and help set up the next visit. Clients may be photographed before and after their service, and photos are shared on social media only with permission.

Guests can settle in with complimentary bottled water, sparkling water and sodas, lap desks, free Wi-Fi and phone charging cords, and select alcoholic drinks are available for guests 21 and over. Snacks are provided for long appointments, and clients can order food delivery. Cut and style services run from $35 to $120 and color services from $45 to $450+. Listed prices cover maintenance only, the cost of hair is separate, and prices vary by stylist and depth of service.

The salon is open by appointment, Tuesday to Thursday from 10am to 6:30pm and Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm, and is closed Sunday and Monday. A card on file is required to book. Cancellations and reschedules need 48 hours' notice, and cancellations inside that window cannot be made by text. Missing that window means 30% of the service is due before rescheduling. Same-day cancellations, reschedules, no-call no-shows and no-shows are charged the full scheduled service. Dissatisfied clients can request a redo within 7 days of the service, but the salon does not offer refunds of any kind. Existing guests can reschedule through the online booking system at any time.
