Layer Beauty Boutique was built over the past decade by its owner, Jean Broderick, who has worked behind the chair for 25 years. She began her career in San Antonio, where she developed her blonde techniques, and has lived and worked in Austin for more than twenty years.

Visits are by appointment. Color correction and creative color start with a complimentary consultation, and these services often take more than one visit, with results that vary from client to client. Extension pricing is set after a consultation, and individualized pricing is also available that way. Prices for color and styling depend on each stylist's experience, education and expertise.

The team includes stylists with a range of backgrounds, from long careers in cutting and color to newer specialties such as hair extensions and hair transformations, so clients can match their visit to what they want. Bang trims are offered at a lower price for new clients and at no charge for existing clients.
