About

Lavender & Mane was started by former co-workers who became friends first and later business partners. It works out of Suite 29 of the Sola Salon Suites: from the building's front door, turn right, then left, and follow the corridor to the end. A parking garage sits directly behind the building, and street parking is available on nearby streets. The salon treats collaboration with each client as the key to reaching their hair goals. Colorists paint freehand using traditional techniques to create color and balayage that looks believable and lived-in. The colorists describe their experience with natural, sun-kissed hair as extensive, and the work is planned around how the color will look as it grows out.

Stylists shape haircuts to complement the client's color and texture, so cut and color are considered together. Every color service includes a complimentary rough dry, and a full blow dry can be booked in advance. The salon accepts major credit and debit cards and cash; tips for colorists and stylists are requested in cash.

New clients request a booking through the chosen stylist's form, and the salon responds within 24 to 48 hours. If an online booking is not approved, clients email the stylist they picked. Cancellations need at least 48 hours' notice. Cancelling 24 hours ahead results in a charge of half the service fee, to the card on file or to the next booking; cancelling on less than 24 hours' notice or on the same day results in the full fee. Clients more than 15 minutes late are billed for the whole session, which is limited to the scheduled appointment time.

Colorists work freehand in traditional painting methods, and each appointment is built around working with the client toward the color they want.

An intimate, inviting space inside a salon suite building.
