Lash Xxotica

Lash Xxotica is a lash and beauty salon operated by Lash Xxotica LLC in the Virginia Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta. The salon's stated aim is for every client to leave feeling beautiful and confident, and its work centers on lash enhancement along with brows, skin and occasion makeup.

The lash menu covers several extension styles. Classic extensions place one lightweight extension on each natural lash. Volume extensions place several lightweight extensions on each natural lash, in a ratio of 2 to 10 extensions per lash. Hybrid extensions mix classic singles with light volume fans for a medium to light look, and wispy extensions use a textured mix of classic and volume techniques. Extension fills are available between full sets, and lash lifts last up to six weeks. Lash tinting is also offered. On the brow side, the salon does brow lamination, brow sculpting and tinting, and microblading. It also offers facials and facial waxing of the lip, chin, jaw and brows, along with full face makeup for any occasion.

Extensions are applied with a semi-permanent, cyanoacrylate-based adhesive made for use around the eyes rather than on the skin. The salon recommends touch-ups every two to four weeks. Refills are not offered once four weeks (28 days) have passed since the previous appointment; in that case a full set is required, and it is charged when 60 percent or more of the lashes are missing. Clients are asked to arrive 10 minutes early with clean lashes, free of makeup, mascara and creams. A $15 lash cleanse fee applies otherwise. Only water-based mascara is permitted with extensions, and the salon says extensions should only be applied by a trained professional.

Bookings require a credit or debit card on file and are confirmed 48 hours ahead. Appointments made 30 or more days in advance need a 50 percent deposit, except recurring appointments. Cancellations under 48 hours affect the schedule, and deposits are non-refundable but transferable if cancelled at least 24 hours before the appointment. A 50 percent fee applies to no-shows or late cancellations. Arrivals get a 10-minute grace period; after that a $15 late fee applies and the appointment may be shortened or cancelled. All services are non-refundable. Only the client receiving service may enter the treatment room, with exceptions for clients with disabilities, and pets are not allowed other than service and emotional support animals.

The salon also offers training. Lashing 101 is a classic extension course that includes a kit, certification, lifetime mentorship and possible job placement. Master Lash Training covers classic and volume extensions, including bottom lashes and tips, with certification and marketing and business coaching. Lash Lift and Tint Training is also offered, including a client waiver. Training can be taken one-on-one or in groups, and the two certification courses require a $250 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit.
