Kristy Hyde Hair opened in 2014 at 542 Rutherford Road in Greenville. The salon has shifted toward natural hair and away from relaxers and protective styles, according to the owner in a 2024 Canvas Rebel interview. It welcomes curly, coily, kinky and textured hair, as well as clients who wear their hair curly, natural, blown out or colored. Heat is used deliberately as a styling tool, paired with hydration coaching and custom curl care.

New clients begin with the New Client Curl or Blowout Experience, which includes a crown reset, a curl pattern assessment, a hair and scalp assessment, and a customized care plan. A $50 consultation covers hair goals, current challenges, scalp and curl concerns, maintenance expectations and a recommended service plan. The Carolina Curl Decode is an in-salon educational experience offered each July and December and open to all hair textures. It begins with a review of the scalp, texture, lifestyle and goals, then moves to a custom Curl Comeback Plan with coaching for results at home and between visits.
