About

Just Jeff is a hair salon brand run by Jeff Nance, a master hairdresser and colorist who began his career in Newport Beach, California, in 1989. He spent more than 20 years at Salon Gregorie's at Fashion Island, where he was chosen for the artistic team in the 2000s and completed the salon's formal teacher-training program. He later became a Formula 18 Educator and now teaches plant-based bond repair across California.

Rather than keeping one studio, the work moves through four cities on a rotating schedule: Costa Mesa, held at Rock Star Hair Studio and Spa; Roseville, at The Standard Salon; Santa Rosa, at R.E.L. Salon; and Napa, at David Magna Salon. Because the schedule shifts, clients are asked to call (949) 637-4391 or email justjeff12@gmail.com to confirm availability. Booking requests sent through the form are confirmed within 24 hours. Appointments are usually booked weeks ahead, with Costa Mesa often full two to four weeks out, Roseville needing two to three weeks, and Santa Rosa in especially high demand. The Costa Mesa studio has free parking in its lot.

Cuts and styling include a 90-minute precision haircut built around skull structure, a 60-minute men's grooming cut with a blended clipper-to-scissor fade, dry-cut curly hair styling, a 45-minute blow-dry, and a 45-minute day-of styling service that can be added to any color or treatment. A blow-out finish is included in every cut and color appointment. Color work ranges from balayage and ombre to foil and freehand highlighting, custom full or partial color, grey blending with matched formulas, and multi-session color correction, where a single session can run four to six hours.

Treatments cover Formula 18 bond repair, keratin smoothing, chemical or thermal straightening, perms, structural reshaping for poorly cut hair, and chemical correction for over-processed hair, which is handled over two to three visits. Clients receive written records of their formulas and treatments and, after chemical correction, a written home care plan.

The salon describes Formula 18 as a bond repair system that works without the harsh chemicals found in many standard products, and calls it one of the safer options for chemically compromised hair. Between color visits, Jeff recommends a sulfate-free shampoo and regular bond maintenance, and the salon suggests Formula 18 every six to 10 weeks for actively colored hair.

Works in planned stages, building color corrections over several sessions and using Formula 18 between chemical services to reinforce the hair before the next step.
