Joseph Battisti was founded by its namesake stylist, who opened his own practice in New York City after working as a Creative Director in luxury salons. The salons use Hair Kinetics, his cutting and styling method, which focuses on how hair naturally moves and holds its structure. The salon describes the method as award-winning.

Under Hair Kinetics, hair is cut where it naturally falls rather than forced into a set direction or shape. Each cut is adapted to the client's bone structure and how their hair behaves, instead of being matched to standard face shapes. The method pairs precision cutting with modern deconstruction techniques, and the aim is natural-looking results that suit how each client lives.

Services are organized into extensions, treatments, color, styling and haircuts. Extension options include temporary and semi-permanent choices such as clip-ins, tape-ins, keratin tips applied by hot or cold fusion, and microlinks. Consultations for extensions, sew-in extensions and wigs cost $50, $50 and $100, and each fee goes toward the cost of the extensions or wig.
