Appointments are one-on-one in a small suite that the business describes as calm and comfortable, with room for about two guests at a time. Consultations are included in every appointment. Curl Coaching is an in-depth first visit for new clients. It covers the client's curl pattern, how to apply products, and how to care for and style curls at home, and it includes a Curl-by-Curl Cut. Ahead of any appointment, clients should cleanse, condition and detangle their hair and set curls with their usual styling products within 24 hours, then arrive with hair dry and styled and avoid buns or ponytails that day.

Policies cover cancellations with at least 48 hours notice, a 50 percent charge for changes made on shorter notice, and a 100 percent charge for no-shows. Appointments have a 15-minute grace period. Clients who want a shape adjustment can get in touch within seven days. Only service animals are permitted, and children who are not getting their hair done are discouraged from coming, since the suite has no play space. Gift certificates are available by texting the stylist.

Work is built around each client's curl pattern, with product application and home care covered as part of the visit.
