The salon aims for a calm, comfortable visit in which each guest is treated as an individual, and it says its business is built around what guests need. A large share of its clients are repeat guests or come through referrals. The salon describes its stylists as among the most qualified in the industry.

Color is a specialty. Each color service begins with a personal consultation, and the salon works across the range from highlights to all-over color. It uses Aveda hair color, which the salon describes as fade-resistant, made with plant-based ingredients rather than petrochemicals, and organic and 100% vegan. Color prices depend on hair length and thickness. New guests are asked to do a patch test 24 hours before their appointment.

Beyond color, the menu covers cuts, blow-dries, waxing, makeup, hair extensions and special occasion styling. Designers are trained to shape cuts and styles to each guest's bone structure and facial features. Waxing results typically last about three to four weeks, and guests taking prescription skin medications should mention it before waxing. Cancellations need 24 hours notice, or the scheduled service is charged. Brandeis College students receive reduced rates before 4pm, Tuesday through Friday, but not on Saturdays.

Each guest is treated individually, with cuts and color planned around their hair, bone structure and facial features after a personal consultation.
