The salon says it invests in them toward financial success and excellence in their craft, with weekly cutting classes, in-salon education from senior stylists, and time at expositions and education courses. Stylists can also build portfolio work through editorial shoots, events and shows.

Open Tuesday and Wednesday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; closed Sunday and Monday. First-time clients call (617) 558-6388 so staff can schedule the first visit, and returning clients can book online at any time. A 50% deposit applies to services over $100, and a credit card is needed to hold an appointment. Extensions and straightening services require a card on file. Cancellations or no-shows are charged 100% of the estimated service total. Chemical services should be booked before a haircut, and a blow dry after a chemical service is booked separately.

Two hours of metered parking sit in front of the salon from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and assistants can feed a client's meter during an appointment. The Green Line D stops at Newton Centre. A concierge can suggest nearby restaurants, coffee shops and retailers. The salon retails R + Co hair care products.

Pairs skilled cutting and color with a focus on each client's personal style, with stylists encouraged to keep learning through classes and education.
