Liana Belli founded HoneyGirl Beauty after deciding to offer locals expert waxing without a lot of fuss. The studio first opened in Mill Valley with a single wax room on East Blithedale. It later moved to Sunnyside Avenue, where it now operates as a waxing studio with a boutique alongside.

Services are by appointment only and are grouped into brows and tinting, combo waxes, facial waxing, men's waxing, threading, body services, and add-ons that can be added to any body appointment. Waxing is offered to both women and men, though bikini services are for women only. The business describes its waxing as quick and easy to sit through, and says most of its clients are long-term regulars.

The boutique carries clothing from Pistola, Spell, and Nation LTD, along with clean beauty and skincare from Supergoop!, Kopari, Saint Jane, Fur, and Grande Lash. Liana selects the boutique's items herself and offers personal shopping sessions there, which can also be arranged on request.

Clients who use retinoids, Retin-A, antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, other forms of vitamin A, or chemical exfoliants are asked to stop them 7 to 10 days before waxing. Clients taking Accutane are advised to avoid waxing, and to wait six months after treatment before waxing regularly again. An esthetician may decline a service they consider unsafe for a client's skin.
