Honeycomb Salon

Honeycomb Salon was first established in 2018 in West Plaza. It moved to the Volker neighborhood in January 2022, when another stylist joined the team. Street parking is available directly in front of the salon.

The salon chose its name to signal a commitment to treating clients and their hair gently while cutting back on waste and pollution in the beauty industry. Products are picked for transparent ingredient lists and for companies working to shrink their environmental footprint. The salon describes itself as environmentally conscious.

Afterworld Organics, a non-toxic hair care brand, is the main product line on the shelves. Its bottles are glass and its refills come in kraft paper pouches, and the products leave out parabens, sulfates, silicones, dyes and artificial fragrances. The brand is not sold on Amazon, so clients who want it can buy it at the salon. Other retail items include combs, a scalp brush and a range of body and hair products.

Every visit starts with a consultation covering the current health of the hair, a plan for upkeep over time and any budget concerns. Stylists talk through what they have learned about hair care as they work. Prices vary by stylist.
