Honey Aura Studio was founded in 2023 by Caitlin, who also works as the studio's wax specialist. The studio is women-owned and describes itself as voted DeKalb County's best beauty salon. It aims to be a space where bold, free-spirited clients can be themselves.

The studio is built on authenticity and on celebrating every body and hair texture. It sets clear expectations and has honest conversations with clients, and it aims to be a judgment-free room. It hosts its own intimate events and works with local businesses and creatives on pop-ups, markets and gatherings.

Waxing is the core of the studio, with Brazilian and body waxing as a specialty and facial waxing for brows, full face, upper lip, chin, sideburns, nostrils and lower back. The specialist stays with you from start to finish, since there is no receptionist. Free on-site parking, WiFi, disabled access and a comfortable lobby for waiting are all available, and waxing is offered in English and Spanish.

Full sets and mini fills are offered, with a mini fill available 3 to 7 days after a set. Clients should arrive with clean, makeup-free lashes and should not wear mascara with extensions. For facials, clients should avoid retinoids, exfoliants and active skincare for 48 hours beforehand, and makeup should wait at least 24 hours after microdermabrasion or a chemical peel. Clients are asked not to shave before waxing and to exfoliate the day before.

Sarah and Emily work as independent artists, each with their own cancellation and late-arrival policies, so clients should read those before booking. Across the studio, cancellations need to be given in advance to avoid a possible fee, and arriving late can cut the appointment short, depending on the stylist's schedule. Clients who don't want to appear on camera can have before-and-after photos taken with the face left out of the frame. Payment is accepted by Visa, MasterCard and Discover, as well as debit cards and cash.
