Each service begins with an assessment of the condition of the client's hair and scalp, rather than a fixed formula. Loc maintenance is a full-length session covering washing, moisturizing, retwisting and grooming from root to ends, with locsmithing, crotchet and palm rolling included. Sessions are booked in 3.5, 4 or 4.5 hour blocks, with an estimated minimum of three hours. Clients who do not need a wash receive a $20 discount, and a detox or scalp scrub can be added for a deeper cleanse.
Beyond locs, the studio offers braids and cornrows, colour, extensions, glueless wig installs, relaxers, styling, washes and treatments. Treatments include a curl rebuilding service using Olaplex Bond Shaper, an amino acid smoothing treatment and a keratin treatment. A consultation is available for $20.
A loc care subscription is sold as a prepaid plan in 3-month or 6-month durations, in tiers named Nurture, Flourish and Thrive. Each plan includes 3 or 6 appointment credits and is not billed monthly. To keep the subscription rate, appointments should be booked every 4 to 7 weeks.
