Healthy Skin Club is a private skincare studio in La Jolla. The studio describes itself as a skincare studio rather than a day spa, and its work centers on skin health, education and personalized care. Founder Bianca Sanchez, a Master Esthetician, built the practice around that approach, and the studio also welcomes clients travelling from Del Mar, Encinitas and the wider San Diego area.

Each appointment opens with a consultation and skin analysis, and the treatment is built around the client rather than picked from a set menu. The Tailor Made facial runs 70 or 90 minutes, priced at $200 and $250 respectively, and which steps are included changes from one session to the next. Possible additions are LED light therapy, oxygen therapy, micro-current, high frequency, bespoke masks, peels with no downtime, liquid micro-needling, DMK facial massage, and buccal jaw massage. Clients also receive a home care routine and product suggestions tailored to their skin type and concerns.

Peels are a major part of the menu. The Clear Skin Peel is an acne program of biweekly sessions run for 12 to 16 weeks, or until the skin is virtually clear. Sessions combine Celluma LED, high frequency and extractions. It can be booked as a single visit for $165 or as part of the biweekly program at $120 per session. The Environ Cool Peel is a lactic or TCA peel, priced at $165, with little to no downtime and a formula adjusted to the skin on the day. The Factor Five RDS1 Peel is a two-step peel at $250, using TCA, kojic acid, peptides, stem cell factors and botanicals, with little to no downtime and no photosensitivity.

The Glow Club is a monthly membership at $180 per month with no long-term contract. Each month it includes one Tailor Made Facial 70, and members receive 10% off services, products and add-ons. Members can move up to the Tailor Made 90 or the Factor Five Peel by paying the price difference, with 10% off the upgraded rate. Cancellation takes 30 days' notice before the next billing date. Unused credit rolls over once and stays valid for one month only.

Practical details: appointments need to be canceled or rescheduled at least 48 hours in advance. Gift cards can be bought in any amount, are sent instantly by email, and can be used for treatments and products both in the studio and online. Two paid parking lots sit beside and across from the studio, and 2-hour street parking is also available. According to the studio, its Google profile shows a 5.0 rating from 20 reviews.

The studio puts skin health, education and personalized care first, and it works through individual plans and home care rather than one-size-fits-all treatments.
