Haven & Brow

Haven & Brow is a permanent cosmetics and beauty lounge at 909 Alder Avenue, Suite 202, inside Suites on Alder in downtown Sumner. The studio is on the second floor of a historical building with no elevator or stair lift, so it is not ADA accessible; the owner says a permanent accessibility solution is in progress. Clients enter through the side door beside the Spread Love mural, and free street parking is available, with a parking lot on the left side of the building. The business was built from scratch through referrals, and the website covers only the services of owner Jamie Knott. Other beauty businesses in the building set their own services, prices and policies. Each renter at Suites on Alder is a separate business. A visit usually starts with a free consultation of about 30 minutes, which covers what to expect, whether a client is a good candidate, and any questions, and lets the client see the shop before booking. Most first-time services need one before they are booked, and the consultation and the service should be on different days, with a week or more between them ideally. Services are by appointment only and must be booked online. Most permanent makeup work uses one of two topical numbing creams. Brow services include an initial touchup at six to eight weeks for an additional $125. Services are priced at $525 plus tax for eyebrow microblading, powder brows, combo brows, microblading or powder brow correction and removal, and lip tint tattoo, $425 plus tax for the eyelash enhancement tattoo, and $250 per breast for areola tattoo. Brows or eyeliner for hair loss from alopecia or chemotherapy are offered at a discounted rate after contacting the artist before booking. Cancer survivors need to be in remission and have a doctor's note. An areola tattoo receipt is provided at payment for insurance submission. The shop is a licensed tattoo facility. Clients must be 18 or older to enter, with no exceptions, and friends and family do not come into the treatment area. Pregnant or breastfeeding clients are not accepted for permanent cosmetics, and a few weeks after giving birth with breastfeeding finished is required. Haven & Brow accepts cash and major cards, along with gift cards, and cancellations under 48 hours require full payment before rebooking. The studio also teaches. A 100-hour permanent makeup fundamentals course meets Washington state licensing and insurance requirements, with classes kept to one or two students. One-on-one permanent makeup classes are offered, along with shadowing for established artists, from one hour up to several days, case by case. Courses related to its services are hosted at the location, and the owner mentors renters at Suites on Alder on techniques, sanitation and business matters.
