Hair Hero

Hair Hero is a private salon suite in the Headquarters Village building of Salons by JC at 8240 Preston Rd in Plano. Clients come from Plano and nearby Frisco and North Dallas. The salon is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 7 pm, by appointment. Sunday and Monday visits are arranged separately, with entry instructions sent by message before arrival.

The Japanese Straight Perm is the signature service, a long-lasting straightening treatment that includes a haircut and starts at $400. Pricing works out to about $100 per hour, and a first visit usually runs four to five hours, longer for very long or dense hair or complicated histories. Returning clients within six months pay $400 to $450 for a visit of about three hours, and touch-ups cost less than a first perm. Before booking, clients are asked to mention bleach or highlights, past keratin, Brazilian Blowout or other straightening, or natural texture of type 2B or tighter. Newer clients book directly, then hear back by message to review hair condition, treatment history and photos. Final suitability and price are confirmed after an in-person assessment.

Color is done with Japanese products and personalized to each client, and conditioning treatments are blended into formulas when suitable. Color prices with Hiro are starting points, and the total depends on hair and the work needed. Weekday Cut and Color, offered Tuesday to Friday, costs $180 for all hair lengths and includes a haircut and single-process color in about two to two and a half hours, without bleach. Men's services include haircuts, color, gray coverage and eyebrow trimming, plus a short head spa with Japanese Head Bath. Men's packages with Erika run from $80 to $130, and extensions for men's head spa are available for an extra fee, subject to available time.

Head spa sessions follow a menu from the Quick Head Spa at $80 for about 45 minutes up to the Premium Head Spa at $200 for about two hours, all led by Erika. Select services include Japanese Head Bath, a continuous flow of warm water over the scalp, and the scalp care uses the TAKARA BELMONT YUME system. A 20-minute Luxury Head Spa add-on costs $50 with eligible services, subject to availability.
