The menu is built around loc care. It includes children's retwists for ages 5 to 10, retwists sized by head section, length and loc count, restorations and healing sessions for repairs, starter locs in several methods, and loc extensions. Starter locs and loc extensions both need a consultation first. The starter loc consultation is $50 for 30 minutes and is not credited toward the service. Loc extension consultations must be done in person at least two weeks before installation. A separate virtual session, also $50 and 30 minutes, focuses on natural hair growth remedies.

Clients arrive with hair fully taken down from any previous style, though protective styles, braids, faux locs and extensions placed over locs stay in. Services marked no wash need clean hair free of debris. Pricing depends on loc length and loc count, and over 100 locs, heavy new growth, matted roots or very long hair carry an in-salon upcharge.

Appointments are requested at least 48 hours ahead, and requests inside 24 hours carry a $50 squeeze-in fee. A non-refundable deposit of 20 to 30 percent secures the booking, and one reschedule is allowed per deposit. Appointments before 7 AM or after 6 PM carry a 20 to 30 percent upcharge, and evening appointments after 6 PM also have a $50 service fee. Final payment is accepted by cash, Zelle, Venmo or Apple Pay. Booksy hours differ by day, with Saturday the longest and Wednesday through Friday ending in the early afternoon.

Joy also offers a three-hour Hybrid Retwist training course for $625. It covers basic retwisting, parting, styling, choosing products by hair texture and basic marketing, and includes a loc model, a mini starter kit and an aftercare kit. Products sold include Liquid Gold Hair Growth Oil, a Loc Maintenance Kit, Loc Fragrance and an Aloe Vera and Rose Water Loc Mist, available through an online shop with customer pickup.
