Rjay has worked in hair since 2014, beginning at Innovation Hair Salon in the Carlsbad mall and then at the JCPenney hair salon. The next seven years were spent at Pistachio Cut and Color Bar, a team-based salon in an upscale neighborhood, before opening a studio of their own.
The studio focuses on color and haircuts, with a particular interest in sleek, shiny hair. Rjay says they take ongoing courses and learn new methods to keep up with trends, and aim to understand each client's needs and desired result before styling.
Visits include a relaxing scalp massage, a hair mask and a blowout as complementary treatments. The studio describes its atmosphere as luxurious and comfortable. Bookings are made through a GlossGenius page, where in-person appointments can be paid for with Buy Now, Pay Later for totals from $50 to $4,000, subject to approval before the appointment. A cancellation fee of 50% of the service total applies to no-shows and to cancellations made within 72 hours of the appointment.
The studio aims to understand each client's needs and desired result before styling, and says it uses only the highest quality products.
