Hair Alchemy

Hair Alchemy was established in April 2015 by husband and wife Justin and Tara Wheeler, who moved from San Francisco to Florida, where Tara grew up. Together the two founders report 30 years of combined experience in the beauty industry. The salon describes itself as clean and green and as a Vegan and Veteran owned business.

The salon's stated goals are transformation, exceptional service and positive growth in the community. It aims for guests to feel at home during a visit, and says consistency is a priority across its services and customer service. The team uses what it describes as top industry tools and follows strict sanitation practices, and it says all staff keep learning so they stay current with trends and styles.

Wig and hair replacement work is the core of the business. Consultations take into account factors such as bone structure and hair type when designing a look. A wig consultation requires an appointment and a $100 consult fee, paid on the day, which is credited toward a wig or hair piece purchase or an adjustment. The consultation leaves time to try on up to 10 wigs. The salon keeps more than 400 wigs, hair pieces and toppers in stock, so a stock wig can arrive in about a week when needed, while a custom order takes about 8 weeks. Staff cut, color, style and adjust wigs and hair pieces to fit each client. Virtual consultations are available for clients who prefer them or live outside the area. The salon says it is the only local wig salon offering a custom tailored service.

Beyond hair replacement, the salon offers Cezanne smoothing treatments, Kevin Murphy hair care and color, and a range of waxing, brow and lash services. Eyelash extensions are booked by contacting Natashia Winn directly. Permanent makeup options include microblading, powdered brows with a digital pen and eyeliner, with lips by consultation.

The wellness side includes facials, peels and add-ons, plus therapeutic massage and sauna sessions. Massages use heated Himalayan salt stones and essential oils and finish with a sugar back scrub. The sauna sessions combine steam and infrared heat with a shower, and the salon says they can support relaxation, circulation and sleep. Newcomers are asked to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early for paperwork, a tour and a consultation.

Consultations are shaped around bone structure, hair type and the look each client wants, with the team aiming for consistency across hair, skin and customer service.
