Haircuts usually begin with a consultation with the stylist. Clients can browse the online haircut lookbook beforehand and bring in a style to guide the conversation. Stylists keep Clip Notes, technical records of past cuts received at any Great Clips salon, so a cut can be repeated later.

Walk-ins are accepted. Online Check-In lets people join the wait list from anywhere and see estimated waits, but it does not reserve a time. It is not available for perms or formal updos, and it opens shortly after the salon does and closes as closing time nears. Clients can ask for a particular stylist at check-in, which may lengthen the wait, and stylist schedules are not published.

Formal styling and updos are offered for short and long hair. Hair coloring is not provided. Shampoo uses the client's preferred professional products, and beard trims can be shaped to a chosen length.

The salon takes part in Clips of Kindness, which offers complimentary clipper cuts to people undergoing cancer treatment, and in a Veterans Day program offering free haircuts or haircut cards to active and veteran service members. It accepts hair donations for Wigs for Kids at participating locations, so clients should ask whether this one does. Satisfaction is guaranteed on services and products, and any concerns are taken up with staff at the salon.

Each haircut begins with a personal consultation with the stylist, and clients are welcome to bring in a style from the online lookbook.
