Threading is the main service and covers brows, upper and lower lip, cheeks, chin, forehead, sides, neck, nape, ears and nose, toes or knuckles, underarms, arms, half arms, legs, half legs, full face with or without brows, and a men's face and beard lineup. A first brow threading visit takes about 20 to 25 minutes and opens with a consultation that includes measuring the face. Clients can return once hair has regrown, typically after two to three weeks. Brow services add henna brows, a plant-based, ammonia-free tint that the business says lasts up to two weeks on skin and up to six weeks on hair; brow lamination, which holds brow hairs in place for four to six weeks; brow tint on its own; and microblading, a semi-permanent pigment service. The business describes itself as one of the best brow bars in San Diego and says it was named gold winner for best threading and waxing salon in 2019 by Updown News in San Diego. Both are the business's own claims.
Eyelash extensions come in classic styles, with one extension per natural lash; volume styles, with several lightweight extensions per natural lash; and hybrid styles, which combine the two. They use individual synthetic or mink lashes set with a semi-permanent adhesive. Lash artists look at natural lashes to choose length and curl, then tailor each set to eye shape and preference. An eyelash lift curls natural lashes upward and takes about 45 to 60 minutes. Facials include a 60-minute European anti-aging facial with deep cleansing, a glycolic peel, exfoliation, an anti-aging mask, facial massage and aromatherapy, with extractions available if needed. Other facials are acne treatment, aqua facial (about 50 to 60 minutes, non-invasive, no downtime, suggested every three to four weeks), microdermabrasion, express and chemical peel. A high frequency treatment can be added after threading for breakouts.
Waxing is offered for women, including Brazilian and full-body services, using soft wax, hard wax and roll-on wax with disposable applicators. Hair should be at least half an inch long, and visits are suggested every four to six weeks. Full face threading packages are also offered. Two monthly memberships are available. The Super Saver Plan at $29 a month includes two free brows each month, 10% off products and services, and sharing with up to three people on one account. The Diamond Club at $70 a month adds one free European facial each month, a customized facial plan, a free consultation for acne or anti-aging solutions, and home care kit instruction, and can also be shared with up to three people. Members receive priority booking, exclusive discounts and rewards. Cancellation requires a written request or an in-person request at the reception desk at least 30 days before the next payment, takes effect 30 days after it is received, and membership fees are non-refundable.
The business describes its setting as clean and spa-like. It says it supports women-centered and local nonprofits, including Susan G. Komen and LGBTQ+ groups, and volunteers with the Indian senior community through Human Touch San Diego. Grace Threading School offers threading training for $2000 per student, with 10 hours of instruction plus 10 hours of observation for up to five students per class; advanced facial training for $1000 per student; and speed waxing and Brazilian training for $500 per student. Students must be licensed estheticians or cosmetologists, or enrolled in beauty school. Classes are by appointment only, and students bring their own models, which can be provided for an extra $25 for threading and waxing or $50 for advanced facial training. A student who is not confident after a course may retake it free within seven days.
The stated mission is for every guest to leave feeling beautiful, confident and cared for. Each client chair is cleaned with an EPA-registered disinfectant before and after every client, microblading uses disposable tools and sterilized equipment, and threading is chemical-free and described as suitable for sensitive skin.
