About

Grace & Glam Hair Braiding is a hair braiding salon on Telephone Road in Houston. The salon describes itself as one of the top African hair braiding salons in Houston.

The braid menu covers single braids, box braids, knotless braids, bohemian braids, kinky twists, Senegalese twists, passion twists and twist braids. Single braids can be chosen in short, medium, long or very long lengths and in any color or combination, and typically take about 4 to 6 hours depending on style and length. Box braids come in small, medium, large and jumbo sizes, with bohemian, knotless, freestyle and bob styles also available. Knotless braids begin with a feed-in method rather than a knot at the root, which the salon notes reduces scalp tension.

Beyond braids, the salon offers feeding cornrows, lemonade cornrows with or without extensions, and tribal cornrows that are often decorated with beads. Crochet options include synthetic crochet braids worn straight, curly, twisted or braided, plus short curly bomb and straight back styles. Locs include crown dread locks, a halo-style wrap, along with dread locks and faux locs. Sew-ins are offered with frontal, ear-to-ear or 360-lace closures. The salon notes that the sew-in with frontal closure creates a natural-looking hairline and parting.

Styles are made with all-natural products, according to the salon. The salon takes cash, which it prefers, as well as credit cards, debit cards, Zelle and CashApp. Early morning appointments are by appointment only, require a deposit and must be booked by phone. Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late are asked to call, and rescheduling forfeits the deposit. Because grip on very short hair depends on the braid style, an in-store consultation is recommended before booking.

The salon says it takes time to understand each client's needs before styling, and it recommends an in-store consultation for very short hair.
