Golden Hour Haven grew out of owner Lauren McElroy's time working in Hoboken and is a new, small business. The studio is set up as an intimate, quiet space where a guest can relax between appointments.

Services are grouped into color, cuts, extensions, smoothing treatments, styling and treatments, with prices and appointment lengths listed for each. Color work ranges from glazes and root touch-ups to full blonde and heavy blonde transformations, and the studio also offers a children's color service for guests up to age 13.

Clients may bring one guest into an appointment, and a small seating area is available for one additional guest. Children are welcome in the studio. Hours are Tuesday from 12 PM to 7 PM, Wednesday and Thursday from 3 PM to 7 PM, Friday from 11 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM; the studio is closed Sunday and Monday. Longer appointments, such as blonde and extension services, can be booked after 5:45 PM for an added $25 fee.

Policies ask for at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations, reschedules, or service changes. Cancelling or rescheduling 24 to 48 hours ahead carries a $50 fee, and cancelling under 24 hours ahead is charged 50% of the scheduled service total. A no-show is charged the full service total to the card on file, though fees may be waived for severe weather, illness, or a family emergency. Clients get a 10 to 15 minute grace period for late arrivals, and card payments carry a processing fee while cash or Zelle does not. Gratuity is optional and can be given by cash, personal Zelle or Venmo.

The studio focuses on making clients feel at ease and trusted with their hair, and invites them to share ideas, ask questions, raise concerns, or say when they are ready for a change.
