Gmx Beauty opened in Cudahy in 2024 and is run by founder Paola E Gamez, a licensed cosmetologist whose beauty career began in 2015. The studio brings hair and makeup together with brow services, waxing and gel nails under one roof on Atlantic Avenue.
Hair services include balayage, foils, babylights, lowlights and other blonding techniques, along with single process root touch-ups, toner gloss, blowouts and sleek, straight flat-iron styling. Hair extensions are offered as wefts, I-Tips or a lift-up installation. Quinceañera and bridal hair are also available, and a $50 fee applies to quinceañera extension installation or styling. I-Tips extensions need to be booked two weeks in advance.
Makeup ranges from soft and full glam to character and special event looks, bridal makeup and bridal makeup with airbrush. A bridal trial can be added before the wedding day, and bridal services can be provided at a home, hotel or venue, with a travel fee for locations outside the studio. Those who want to learn to do their own makeup can book a one-on-one auto makeup class over two 2-hour sessions, and a basic makeup kit can be added for $150.
Brow services cover clean-up waxing, mapping, tinting and lamination. Waxing is offered for the face, underarms, body and intimate areas. Gel manicures are done in a solid color only, and gel X nails are offered in small, medium or large sizes. Booking is available through the website's appointment page for all listed services, and the studio also sells a selection of beauty and aftercare products.
