Evolution Hair Salon is a beauty salon on Firestone Boulevard in Downey. Under one roof it offers hair color, haircuts and styling, highlights, extensions, straightening and perms, along with makeup, lash application and threading. Beatriz founded the salon and works there as a hairstylist alongside the rest of the team.

The salon says its services are shaped to each client's style, and that its aim is to bring out natural beauty and help clients feel more confident. It describes the atmosphere as relaxing and friendly, and says it uses what it calls the finest products and latest techniques.

Clients are asked to book ahead, through Fresha online or by phone or text, and to arrive 10 minutes before their appointment. Some services take a non-refundable deposit to hold the time. Cancellations or changes need 24 hours' notice, or the deposit is forfeited. Children should stay home unless they have an appointment, and pets are not allowed inside.

Prices depend on the time a service takes, hair length and the products used, and can go up if more time or product is needed. Clients are asked to confirm pricing with their stylist before a service begins. Color Corrective is priced by the hour and hair extensions are priced after a consultation. Hours are Monday to Thursday 10:00 am to 7:30 pm, Friday 9:00 am to 7:30 pm, Saturday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and closed Sunday. Payment is taken at the front desk at the end of the visit by MasterCard, Visa, Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay or cash.
