Glow Spa & Wax House

The spa has been run by its owners in North Austin for more than ten years. It is open Sunday and Monday from 10 to 6, Tuesday through Friday from 10 to 7, and Saturday from 10 to 6. Besides treatments, it sells skincare, supplements, aftercare products, candles and gifts, and offers memberships, packages and gift cards.

The facial menu includes the Signature Lux Glow Facial, which combines a double cleanse, a peel or enzymes, AHAs, ultrasonic extractions, a custom mask, facial massage and cooling globes. The Ultra Firming Peptide Facial is a 60-minute signature facial built on Circadia products, moving through enzyme, firming and purifying masks before serums, moisturizer and SPF. The Detox and Glow Facial is a deep cleansing treatment formerly called the Deep Pore Cleansing Treatment. Diamond Glow with Custom Facial exfoliates, extracts and infuses serums in one step; the spa says it is patented and was formerly known as dermalinfusion. Nano Infusion with Exosomes pairs Osmosis Nano Infusion with exosome therapy delivered by the RevitaPen Pro, creating microscopic channels for exosomes, peptides and nutrients. The spa describes it as suited to dull, aging, textured or post-inflammatory skin. Chemical peels, microdermabrasion and a non-invasive Buccal and Lymphatic Sculpting Massage are also offered.

Brow Lamination uses a keratin-infused relaxer to shape and set brows, and the spa says results can last up to two months. It is not offered to pregnant or breastfeeding clients or to anyone using Accutane, retinol or other facial actives, and contact lenses must be removed for the service. Brow Tint colors brow hairs rather than the skin and is not microblading or semi-permanent makeup; the spa does not guarantee how long it lasts. The Korean Lash Lift uses a cysteamine-based system and a keratin complex to lift and shape natural lashes. It involves more steps and different materials than a traditional lash lift and is priced differently. Lash tinting is also available.

Waxing covers men's and women's services, including Brazilian and bikini waxing. Hard wax is a beeswax-based formula for sensitive areas such as the Brazilian, underarms, face and brows, and can lift very short, fine hairs; the spa suggests visits every four to six weeks. Soft wax is used on larger, less sensitive areas like arms, full legs, back and shoulders. Sugaring is used for sensitive areas including the Brazilian and underarms. All soft waxes used at the spa are cruelty free and paraben free. Lycon wax and airbrush tanning are also offered.

The infrared sauna sessions use Clearlight saunas with True Wave Full Spectrum heaters that provide near, mid and far infrared wavelengths, which the spa describes as low EMF. Chromotherapy applies colored light to the body. Red light and near-infrared therapy combines 650nm red and 850nm near-infrared wavelengths and can be done during a sauna session or on its own with Red Light Therapy Towers. The HALO ONE halotherapy generator disperses micronized salt particles and can be used in a sauna, at home or in an office.

To prepare for visits, the spa asks clients not to shave for two weeks before waxing, and to wait four weeks after a chemical peel before waxing. Clients should avoid retinoids, glycolic or salicylic acids for seven days before a facial wax, and wait 24 hours after a facial before applying cosmetics or going into direct sun. After waxing, hot baths, swimming, sunbathing, tight clothing and perfumed products are best avoided. Facials are recommended at least four times a year, and mild peels can be done monthly, while acne-prone skin or hyperpigmentation may call for five to ten peels.

According to the spa, its Korean clinical skincare aims at correction for acne, scarring, pigmentation and skin renewal. Treatments are built on named systems and product lines, and clients receive preparation guidance before peels, facials, brow lamination and waxing.
