Gingerly Wax has offered hair removal since 2010 from its corner location at 30th Street and Dwight Avenue, across from St. Patrick's church. The salon says its mission is a warm, welcoming space where clients feel acknowledged and cared for. Services span face, brow, body, Brazilian and hair removal treatments, with waxing and sugaring both available for most areas.

Waxing begins with a grapeseed oil prep and finishes with cooling aloe vera gel, while facial waxing is finished with witch hazel or aloe. Sugaring starts with a plant-based cleanser and powder, then sugar paste is applied against the direction of hair growth. A warm towel removes excess sugar, and aloe may be added. Stray hairs can be tweezed after either method.

Brow services include a consultation, a short massage, tweezing and trimming. Treatment rooms are fully sanitized between clients, and waxing sticks are never double dipped.

The products are vegan and mostly organic. The soft cream wax is imported from Italy and uses four plant-based ingredients with no artificial colors or fragrances. The sugar paste has three organic ingredients, and the sugaring products come from the local company Sweet and True. Prices run from a $9 lip add-on wax up to $163 for Brazilian plus full leg waxing.

Appointments can be booked online and are scheduled in fifteen-minute increments. Clients get a reminder 48 hours ahead and need to confirm within 24 hours, and late cancellations or reschedules within 24 hours are charged the full service price. Street parking is found on Dwight Avenue nearer 29th Street, since 30th Street has very few spaces. Hours are Saturday to Monday 8 AM to 2 PM and Tuesday to Friday 8 AM to 8 PM, and the salon suggests calling ahead for last-minute visits.

According to the salon, its service combines careful technique with individual attention. Hygiene practices and mostly organic, vegan products are central to how treatments are done.
