Galaxy Flower Lab Skin Studio

Galaxy Flower Lab was started by Asia Thorpe to take her skin care experience into her own formulations. Its product line began in 2020, and the business says it aims to combine ancient plant medicine with natural cosmetic science.

The Mill Valley studio is on the second floor of a building shared with wellness practitioners. The Stinson Beach location is inside the West Marin Wellness Collective, which has a second treatment room, so a facial and a massage can be booked on the same day. Mill Valley is open Tuesdays from 10am to 6pm and Stinson Beach Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 6pm. Other days and times can be requested when booking two or more facials. Mail goes to PO Box 6 in Bolinas.

Facials run from the 75-minute HOLISTIC to the two-hour COSMIC, with the LUXE and SUPERSONIC sitting between them. Vitality, Lymphatic Lift and Microchanneling each come as an hour treatment or a longer facial, and the business recommends repeating them every two weeks or monthly, with discounts for series of three or more. Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation is offered only at Stinson Beach and is booked by email or text, with 10% off when three or more sessions are prepaid.

Massage and body work at the Stinson Beach collective include Ayurvedic warm oil massage, body treatments and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi from its therapists. The business reports that Asia Thorpe was named Best Esthetician in 2019 in the Pacific Sun Best of Marin reader's poll.

Facials are built around a consultation and products are formulated and made by hand in-house in small batches with organic ingredients, cold-pressed oils and naturally derived cosmeceuticals, apart from the sunscreen.
