Favorite Salon

Favorite Salon is a collective of artists. Mindy, the owner, opened the salon, and it now has locations at 4308 N Florida Avenue in Tampa and 2059 Central Avenue in St. Petersburg. Both are open Tuesday through Sunday, closed Mondays, and operate by appointment only. Each stylist sets their own schedule and their own pricing.

The salon describes itself as a place where artistry, well-being and connection come together. Its stated aim is a welcoming, sustainable space where everyone feels seen and celebrated. It puts a collaborative relationship between stylist and client first, with each visit tailored to the person in the chair.

Services include personalized haircuts, color, highlights, blonding, balayage, vivid color and creative color. Haircut prices start at $50 and go up to $100 or more, depending on the stylist and the service. New clients who are not sure which stylist suits them can fill out an appointment request form and be matched with someone. The salon does not offer keratin treatments or perms, and it runs a hair model program.

The Tampa location has a licensed massage therapist who offers therapeutic, barefoot, Thai and prenatal massage. Parking at Tampa is free: spaces out front, along one side of the building, and in the area behind the shops south of the salon. In St. Petersburg, drivers can use metered spots on Central Avenue and nearby side streets, or a free lot behind the building.

The salon works from a collaborative relationship between stylist and client, with a personalized experience for each visit. It carries hair care described as non-toxic, sustainable and synthetic fragrance-free.
