Established is a hair studio in the NoDa arts district of Charlotte, on East 36th Street. Ian Counts and Emily Warner co-founded it, and it is set up so that every stylist runs their own business under the same roof.

The studio describes its outlook as rooted in creativity, independence and a relaxed feel, with the aim of helping each client look and feel like their best self. Stylists begin by learning a client's goals and day-to-day lifestyle, then suggest personalized solutions.

Haircuts are split by length. Short cuts are done with clippers or scissors above the ear and include tapers and fades, while medium and long cuts cover chin length and longer. Color retouching covers grey along one inch of new growth for clients who return every four to eight weeks. Custom partial and full color use foils or balayage, and both include a toner and a blow-out. Bleach and toning, which can include on-scalp bleaching for maximum brightness, is offered to returning clients on a four to six week schedule.

Appointments can be booked online or by calling or texting (980) 237-4021. The studio is open Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 3pm, and is closed Sunday and Monday. Thick or extra-long hair and extra color may carry additional charges, and clients are asked to call for personalized rates. Reschedules and cancellations need 24 hours notice, and late arrivals may shorten or change the service.
