Envious Lashes traces its start to 2007, when founder Clementina Richardson began as a traveling lash stylist, bringing her own table, lamp and portfolio to clients across the five boroughs. Envious Lashes traces its start to 2007, when founder Clementina Richardson began as a traveling lash stylist, bringing her own table, lamp and portfolio to clients across the five boroughs. She opened a boutique salon on 5th Avenue in 2011 and later moved to the current studio at 144 East 44th Street, at street level between Lexington and Third Avenues with no lobby or elevator. Most clients arrive on foot or by train, since nearby parking is limited and costly.

The studio is open and bright, with white marble, glass and mirrors. The salon works mostly by appointment and welcomes walk-ins when there is room. Every visit starts with a complimentary, personalized consultation where the stylist looks at eye shape, bone structure, natural lash health, skin tone and lifestyle before designing a set. Final quotes are confirmed at booking. Full extension sets take about 1 to 2.5 hours and refills run 60 to 90 minutes. First-time clients with sensitivity concerns receive a patch test, and clients are asked to mention any sensitivities or preferences when they book. A free private conference room is available to clients and can be reserved in advance.

Lash extensions are the core of the menu, from a Barely There Trial Set at the stylist level to Mega Volume sets, with prices that rise for senior artists and for Clementina Richardson herself. Keratin lash lifts with tinting, lash tinting alone, and eyebrow services round out the offering, along with facial waxing and professional extension removal. The salon advises against removing extensions at home. Lashes applied at another salon carry a $50 upcharge because prior work is often removed or corrected first. Hours are Monday and Tuesday 9 AM to 9 PM, Wednesday 9 AM to 8 PM, Thursday and Friday 9 AM to 9 PM, and weekends 10 AM to 6 PM.

Each set is designed around the individual client's eye shape, natural lashes and lifestyle rather than a template, and lash lift timing is adjusted to how strong each client's lashes are. Stylists will recommend a lower intensity if natural lashes cannot carry the application.
