Alex Dale, the lead artist and founder, has been a licensed cosmetologist since July 2011 and founded Estella Jane Style in January 2014. Clients range from people getting ready for upscale events to performers and designers at fashion shows, and the work includes weddings, photo shoots and special events.

Appointments are booked online or by text. The salon is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30am to 3:00pm, and Saturday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Services usually take between one and five hours, so clients are advised to bring a snack and a drink for longer visits. New color clients can book a $25 consultation of 20 to 30 minutes, which includes a strand test and a chance to bring inspiration photos. A skin patch test is available on request.

Color is priced by time, the products used and the skill a technique requires, and prices rise each year as product and tool costs go up. Haircut pricing depends on the time each cut takes rather than a single flat rate. Appointments need 48 hours' notice to change or cancel, and late changes or no-shows carry a fee. Gift cards and a loyalty program with member perks are also available.
