Eiight One was founded by Terrell Slappy, who is its owner and creator. The salon describes its mission as helping clients embrace the best version of themselves, and it says its service aims to leave clients feeling satisfied.

Services are grouped into blowouts, hair press, precision haircuts, packages and maintenance, extensions and enhancements, special occasions and wigs. Natural hair styling includes braid and twist designs made from the client's own hair. The salon does not offer short haircuts.

Appointments are booked through the salon's online booking system, and booking confirms agreement to the salon's policies. Microlink services require a consultation before booking. Extension removal does not include shampooing, which must be booked separately. The salon is open Tuesday to Friday from 9:30am to 5:30pm and Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Payment is accepted by card or cash. Services are for adult clients only. Guests are welcome in the waiting area, where complimentary amenities are available during appointments, but they may not enter the service area or salon suite.
