Edge Salon Suites

Edge Salon Suites rents private suites and individual chairs to independent beauty and wellness professionals. The business was founded in 2006 as Jamila Salon Suites & Spa and was later renamed Edge Salon Suite.

The building sits in north central Austin, close to dining and retail centers, with front door parking. Suites are on the 2nd and 3rd floors and come in single and double-or-larger sizes. Some suites have windows and views, and each suite can be modified to suit different types of business.

Private suites are offered to stylists, estheticians, massage therapists, chiropractors and other wellness practitioners. Each room has floor-to-ceiling walls, wood floors, wood blinds, a granite countertop station for curling irons and hairdryers, and a shampoo bowl with hairdryers. Chairs on the salon floor are in open booths that include a chair and space for styling tools, with granite countertop stations and European shampoo bowls. Suites and chairs are internet ready.

Leases are charged at a fixed weekly rental rate. The lease includes a free bio page on the salon's website that lists the tenant's services and links to their own website, along with free website and advertising. Building management and maintenance are handled on site, and security access is available after hours. Walkthroughs of suites and booths can be arranged, and leasing is handled Tuesday through Friday.

Each stylist and service provider works as an independent contractor. Leasing and general management questions go to the salon, while questions about services go to the individual stylist.

The salon describes its environment as eco friendly and uses VOC paints throughout the building.
