About

Appointments run Tuesday through Friday from 1 PM to 9 PM and on Saturday from 12 PM to 4 PM; the studio is closed Sunday and Monday. Clients take their shoes off on arrival and socks are provided. Appointments booked outside business hours carry a $75 fee, same-day or squeeze-in visits during open hours carry a $50 fee, and bookings on days the studio is closed carry a $100 fee. House calls start at $350, with the price varying by distance from Santa Monica.

The loc menu is the core of the studio. Short locs start at $185 and take about 120 minutes, including an aqua lather, an express deep conditioning, a head and neck massage, repotting and a style where possible. Ear length locs start at $200 for about 135 minutes or more and include repotting with defined parts and a basic barrel twist. Longer lengths, from collarbone and shoulder to waist, are priced upward from $220 to $300. Crochet maintenance, which tightens new growth into the loc, is $350 for about 180 minutes. Loc combinations for a half head ($850) or a full head ($1,000) run about 6 to 7.5 hours and change loc diameter or strengthen locs, with the full-head price depending on severity. A loc comb out, for removing locs and blowing out natural hair, is $1,000, and add-on services are extra. Loc reattachment is $15 per loc and a loc trim is $60. Starter locs are offered in afro styles from mini to shoulder length, with pricing that depends on hair density and length.

Color and other services include a Whats Ya Aura semi-permanent toner service, about 45 minutes, offered in black, blonde, blue, chocolate, gray, green, orange, pink, purple and red from $100. All over bleaching lifts hair at least four levels, followed by toner, and highlights come as all over or dimensional work, with dimensional highlights adding depth in low or high contrast. Hair cuts are personalized and start at $75, silk presses start at $130, and braids include box braids, cornrows, stitch braids and custom requests. Waxing covers chin, lip and eyebrow with hard wax and aloe vera, and strip lash application is also offered.

Booking policies: a client may reschedule once within the same week, after which the retainer is kept by EarthsLocGardener LLC. A $20 token is given when a referral is confirmed. For child ear or neck length locs, a fee applies if the child is crying and the appointment is prolonged. Gift cards are available in $50, $75, $100 and $200 amounts or custom values, and gift card sales are final.
