Recovery typically involves two to three weeks off work, no driving for two weeks, no exercise for six weeks and no lifting over 10 pounds. Patients who smoke or use any nicotine, including vaping, patches or gum, are asked to stop at least two months before surgery and avoid it through healing, for at least 6 to 8 weeks. Patients are also asked to disclose any blood thinners and hormone therapy.
