Deep N the Cut Salon

Deep N the Cut Salon is a small curly hair salon run by two stylists, Leyla and Jay. It is open by appointment Monday through Saturday and closed on Sunday, and it does not take walk-ins. There is no phone line or receptionist, so general questions go by email to info@deepnthecutsalon.com.

The salon's work centers on curl education and hands-on workshops that help clients keep their curls healthy between visits. Each client's hair care plan and routine are built together with the stylist. Leyla owns the salon and works as a curl specialist, and the salon describes her as a trusted authority in the curly hair industry.

Services include custom haircuts, blowouts, Olaplex treatments, medium twists and wash-and-go styles, along with color. Color is priced by the hour and covers highlights, partial highlights, vivid color and root touch-ups; new color clients pay a consultation fee that does not count toward the color service. Listed prices include a New Guest Curl Experience at $380, a Blow Out Hair Cut and Style at $400, a Curly Cut with Style at $300, a Curly Education Mini Workshop at $360 and a Curly Education Hands-on Workshop at $540. A full haircut includes a scalp analysis, shampoo, detox, conditioning, moisture and strength treatments and a curly style finish.

New guests fill out a questionnaire for newcomers and send front and back photos of their hair before booking, and the team reviews those first. Services require a minimum of four inches of hair all the way around the head. Hair should arrive clean, dry and completely detangled, with no buns, ponytails, clips or braids. Hair that has suffered substantial damage from heat styling, chemical treatments or keratin products is not accepted for service. Hair that has been heat-trained often needs a substantial trim before natural curl can show at its best. A major change in curl pattern may take between six and eighteen months, with timing depending on hydration, overall health and the hair's condition.

Booking requires a 50% non-refundable retainer and an active credit or debit card on file. Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled up to 72 hours ahead, with one complimentary reschedule requested through the Vagaro app. Cancellations made within 24 hours forfeit the retainer and the card on file is charged the remaining 50%. Clients arriving 15 or more minutes late are charged a $50 late fee, and clients over 10 minutes late may receive a shortened service at the full fee. Clients must be 13 or older, and no additional guests are allowed during appointments.
