Dash of Lash

Dash of Lash opened in South Miami in January 2015 and is now based at Suite 223 in the 7600 building in Miami. The studio calls itself a lash and brow boutique, also known as Dash of Lash Lash and Brow Boutique, and says it serves all of South Florida, including Coral Gables, Brickell, Kendall and the Florida Keys. Co-founders Nancy Girard and Lucy Rodriguez started the business together.

Lash extensions are offered in three styles. Classic places one extension on each natural lash, also called 1:1. Volume applies several very thin extensions to each natural lash, usually in a 0.07 diameter. Hybrid combines the two techniques for a fuller set. Classic extensions last roughly 3 to 6 weeks depending on natural lash cycles. Silk and mink extensions are also offered. Refills run 60, 90 or 120 minutes, and the studio suggests a 60-minute refill for clients returning every two weeks and a 90-minute refill for every three to four weeks. A full set is required if a refill is more than four weeks away or if less than half the extensions remain. The stated mission is lash extensions that look natural.

The studio also offers a Lash Lift, a semi-permanent treatment that curls natural lashes at the root using the Elleebana method. It takes about 45 to 60 minutes and lasts 6 to 8 weeks. The site says tint suits clients with blond, red or light brown lashes. Brow services include shaping that starts with a consultation and facial assessment, followed by waxing and tweezing, then trimming and styling with brow gel or powder and aftercare advice. Brow henna is a natural tint for brow hair, offered in eight colors and described as vegan and ammonia-free. Brow lamination is an eyebrow perm that makes brows look fuller, straighter and shinier, and it is suitable for men and women.

Visits are by appointment only, and the studio recommends booking two to three weeks ahead. Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm, with Sunday and Monday closed. Clients receive a confirmation email three days before and a text 24 hours before. Cancellations need 24 hours notice, and no-shows or same-day cancellations are charged the full service price to the card on file. Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late (7 minutes for brow appointments) must reschedule, and clients arriving within 20 minutes are seen but the service ends at the original end time. Clients are asked to leave jewelry and valuables at home, and to arrange childcare when booking lash services. The studio has private treatment rooms and sells gift cards online. Retail includes Kelly Baker Brows products, lash care items and GrandeBROW Brow Enhancing Serum, listed at $70 for a four-month supply. Custom and opened products cannot be returned.
