Crowned by Jill operates from a private home setting in Orlando, just off East Colonial Drive near the Kia dealership and the 417 exits. Jill owns the business and does the styling herself. The focus is protective styles, and the salon describes its styles as long-lasting luxury and its services as professional and stress-free.

Braids and twists include pre-parting, two strand twists, boho island twists (a waist-length style), marley twists and passion twists. Locs cover starter locs, which include parting, hydration and coils, and loc retwists. An extra-length add-on can be added to a booking. Prices start at the amounts listed, and service times are estimates that change with hair thickness, density and length.

Every visit is by appointment booked online, and walk-ins are not accepted. Booking one to two weeks ahead is recommended. A 30% non-refundable deposit secures the appointment and is collected at checkout, and the remaining balance is paid at the end by the booking site, cash, Zelle, Apple Pay or Cash App. PayPal and checks are not accepted. Guests who are not being serviced cannot join the appointment. Arrivals have a 15-minute grace period, after which a $15 late fee applies, and an appointment can be cancelled with the deposit forfeited if the client is more than 20 minutes late. Current hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Friday through Sunday, 7:00 am to 11:00 pm.

Clients can choose whether the salon supplies the hair or they bring their own, in which case the salon's suggested brands are recommended. Hair should be washed within 24 hours of the appointment, free of product and detangled from root to end. Washes and blowouts are not offered at the moment, though the salon can blow out hair when needed. Children's styles are available, and a child's hair should be washed, detangled and stretched before arriving. Custom styles can be requested by sending inspiration pictures by DM or email. House calls are not offered.

Rescheduling and cancellation terms depend on notice. One reschedule is allowed without losing the deposit if made 48 or more hours ahead, and a cancellation 48 or more hours ahead carries no penalty, with the deposit transferable once. Changes between 24 and 48 hours forfeit the deposit, and changes under 24 hours or no-call, no-shows require paying part or all of the remaining balance before rebooking. There are no refunds on services or deposits, but issues can be reported within 48 hours for a fix.
