Copper and Ivy Salon Boutique

Copper and Ivy was opened by co-owners Raelynn Nelson and Jessica Wuthrich, who met as neighbors in their own salon suites. They set it up as a place where a group of stylists can support one another while each runs an independent business. Stylists share one open room without walls between stations.

Color is the main focus. Options include Gray Coverage Color, Lived-In Color that blends modern highlight and toning techniques, Fashion and Vivid Color in bright or unconventional shades, and Modern Highlights that combine traditional and newer highlighting methods. Balayage and foilayage, custom highlights, an all-over single-process color that matches or deepens current color, a one-hour root touch-up, a one-hour refresh for faded color and a two-hour maintenance visit are also offered. Hair extensions add thickness or length, precision haircuts start at $65, and keratin smoothing, shampoo and style, and bang trims are available. A 30-minute consultation costs $50 and is credited toward a later appointment.

Visits include a towel service that collects used towels and replaces them with clean ones, a shampoo lounge with lounge chairs and movable sinks, and a coffee bar with hot and cold water, a Keurig, flavored syrups, creamers and tea. Cancellations or reschedules need at least 48 hours notice, and cancellations forfeit deposits. Same-day cancellations need a $50 non-refundable deposit to rebook, and no-shows are not rebooked. Payment is due on the day of service and the salon accepts major cards, several mobile wallets, Venmo, PayPal, Afterpay (extra fees apply) and cash, but not checks. Clients arriving with flu or virus symptoms are asked to reschedule.

The salon also rents space by the day for stylists trying the salon before committing to a contract, and for freelance makeup artists and stylists. It hosts continuing education classes and shares classes offered at other salons or distributor stores with its team.

Stylists work as independent business owners within a shared, supportive salon, and new or custom color work starts with a consultation.
