The salon describes itself as a space where clients can get comfortable and relax, and says its stylists can handle most services. The studio was founded by its owner, Catherine, who also works as a stylist and colorist.

The salon has no front desk, so clients book their own appointments. Each stylist's name appears under the Book Online menu, where pricing and availability are shown. Stylist pages list pricing as hourly, gratuity free and gender free. Some stylists are independent and run their own businesses, so for them bookings, payments and communication go straight to the stylist. Phone calls are text-only, and calls without a voicemail are not returned; a voicemail gets a text reply. Email goes to hello@catherineloveshair.com.

Parking is 4-hour street parking on 1st Ave N and nearby blocks, plus a paid public lot across the street. The salon sits beside Seattle Center and Climate Pledge Arena, and event days can make parking harder to find and more expensive. The salon is not responsible for parking payments or expenses at its location.

The salon's cancellation minimum is notice at least 48 hours before the appointment; otherwise at least 50% of the booked services is charged. Individual stylists may set stricter terms. If a client is unhappy, a no-charge adjustment to the existing style may be offered; a different color, cut or stylist means paying for new services. Additional lightening is almost always not included in the service. Refunds are authorized by the stylist only after other options are exhausted, and clients who receive a refund cannot book again. Products can be returned within 30 days of purchase if still half full.

The salon aims to make each visit relaxed and comfortable, with its stylists handling a wide range of services.
