About

Calm Waters Head Spa by Sofi is located at 14012 Adkins Road in Laurel, Maryland. Head spa treatments are the core of the menu, and the salon describes them as premium. Its listing shows an average rating of 4.8 from 19 reviews.

The head spa menu runs from a kids session for ages 4 to 12 and a men's experience with a scalp and hair analysis, beard scrub, beard mask and LED light therapy, to a signature visit, a deluxe visit that runs close to two hours, and a hair locs detox that deep-cleans locs to remove product buildup, oils and dirt. A men's scalp and beard care service and a dedicated hair loss treatment round out the scalp menu. For the hair loss treatment, the salon says its massage stimulates scalp blood flow and can lead to faster hair growth.

Services take place in a private spa room with aromatherapy, soft lighting and relaxing spa music. The salon calls the experience a Cloud 9 experience.

Beyond the head spa, the salon offers brow lamination and tint, lash clusters and a semi-permanent lash lift and tint, a foot detox with a warm herbal soak and a foot massage, and a full body massage that covers the back, shoulders, arms, hands, legs, feet, neck and scalp. Add-ons include a collagen glow mask and a 25-minute infrared sauna session, which the salon says supports circulation and collagen production.

Two bundles combine services. The Executive Escape pairs an infrared sauna session with the signature head spa visit. The Ultimate Reset Bundle adds 20 minutes of infrared sauna, the deluxe visit and a collagen glow mask, and includes a spa robe and chilled bottled water during the sauna. Gift certificates for the deluxe experience are also available.

Clients can book through the salon's website or app, and same-day appointments are offered based on availability. Head spa services are non-refundable and all sales are final. One reschedule is allowed with at least 24 hours notice, and service credit can be transferred to another person with the same notice.

Built around deep scalp cleansing, soothing head massage and a holistic view of care.

Treatments take place in a private spa room with aromatherapy, soft lighting and relaxing spa music.
