The business grew out of an earlier brand, Brushed By Bri, started by founder Brianna Hood, and the salon name was developed from that brand.

How you book depends on the stylist. Brianna Hood takes requests through an inquiry form, which does not hold a spot; the stylist texts the client if they can serve them. Maria Vazquez, Deana Moreno and Heather Keenan book through their personal websites, and Victoria Rodriguez is booked by Instagram direct message. Each stylist lists their own policies on their personal site.

Appointments must be confirmed to stay on the schedule, and unconfirmed ones may need to be moved. Clients are asked to come alone and to arrive with clean, completely dry hair. The lobby is kept for salon clients, and when it is full, extra guests may be asked to wait in their vehicle or outside. Children under 10 may attend only if they are having a service.
