Brows by Denise

Brows by Denise is run by Denise Barbosa, who started out performing waxing and aesthetic services before concentrating on eyebrow design and natural restoration. The studio sits in Wantagh and welcomes clients from across Long Island and New York City.

A first appointment runs 45 minutes and begins with visual brow mapping before any waxing. After an assessment, the brow artist shapes the brows, sets out a personalized plan, and explains how to fill brows at home. Custom tinting for lighter, gray, or less visible hairs can be added when it would help. The studio describes its visits as calm and guided from start to finish.

Returning clients book a refinement, which the studio recommends every 4 to 7 weeks. The standard refinement includes waxing, tweezing, and customized brow makeup, while a tweezing-only option is done entirely by hand. Chin and lip waxing are available as add-ons for $35 each. Before a first visit, clients are asked to let their brows grow for at least a couple of weeks without waxing or threading.

The studio also sells brow education and products online, including a free guide to choosing brow powder, a video powder tutorial, natural brow powder and clear brow gel, and two brow bundles in dark brown or soft black. Outside regular hours, Brow 911 services are available for an extra charge by emailing the studio.

Booking and policies: a cell number and email are needed to book, and a booking is confirmed only after a confirmation email arrives. Appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 48 hours ahead through the link in that email. A credit card holds the appointment and is charged for no-shows, late cancellations, or same-day cancellations. Services and products are non-refundable, and arriving more than 5 minutes late may shorten the appointment. No free consultations are offered.
