The Lavender Lounge is owned by Brenda Loomis and is located on Alhambra Boulevard in Sacramento. The business describes its space as one where anyone is welcome and can feel secure. It says it welcomes people who have lived through trauma, abuse or PTSD, as well as people who do not feel their body is designed for self-care.
The business holds that human touch is an important part of healing. Its menu covers conventional self-care services alongside less common options such as scalp brushing, hair tugging, and pectoral or gluteal massage. Permission is requested before any service begins.
A visit can start with a free 10-minute skin consult in person, or a free 20-minute virtual consult by phone or video at a time the client picks. Essential oils and palo santo scent the room, and a singing bowl or rain stick may be used. Parking is free street parking only; the lot behind the building is not for clients.
Clients can reschedule or cancel with at least 48 hours' notice, and a no-show must be paid in full within 24 hours. Arrive no more than 5 minutes early. For facials, avoid retinol for 7 to 10 days beforehand and do not shave the face 24 hours before. Inappropriate, uncomfortable or sexual language during a session ends it immediately and the full session amount is charged.
The business treats human touch as a meaningful part of healing and offers both conventional and less common treatments, with permission requested before each service.
Sessions are scented with essential oils and palo santo, with singing bowl or rain stick sounds.
